Voice Activated Door
We are all advertising and selling more voice-activated door locks. By voice-activated I mean they can be controlled by Amazon, Google or Apple devices. Like "Alexa" unlocked the front door or "Hey Google" locked the front door. So how do these devices work?
The original lock is remarkably similar to electronic locks, which I have discussed in previous articles. The difference is that these locks are built into the capabilities of communicating with voice-activated controllers. They will usually communicate with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or both. Bluetooth will be used to open or close the lock; This will be controlled by your smartphone. Installation is particularly important like all smart or electronic locks. It should be set up so that the mechanical action is exceptionally smooth and there is no bonding. The motor inside these locks is not as strong as your hand, as is the case with all mechanical locks.
These smart locks can be temporarily installed to serve as a cleaning service to someone at once. They also have a tracking capability with history, so you can determine who entered your home and at what time. Great to make sure your teen comes home on time!
It will typically use Wi-Fi to control the lock with its smart controller. You can set up a routine where if you said Goodknight "Alexa" a routine would start that would turn off the light, lock the doors and maybe give you a weather report. It is endless what your routine can be. It is all controlled by your voice.
Controlling your voice can also be a problem. So, if a thief came to your front door and said "Hey Google" unlock the front door, would that door be unlocked? This is especially important for any device such as a thermostat, door lock, alarm system, etc. that they can only be controlled by your voice or the sounds you authorize. Another way would be to set the secondary authentication as a security code that the smart controller must listen to before activating it. Most of these have the ability to learn voices and only respond to those voices.
Voice-activated locks are an emerging industry, as they become smarter, they will become more secure and will be able to communicate more closely with your smart controller. AAP (AI) artificial intelligence also plays a large role in domestic security.
